A man(80s) and a woman (70s) were assaulted during a burglary at their home on Friday evening last. Gardaí are investigating the aggravated burglary that occurred on Friday, September 8th at a house in Athlone. Shortly after 6 p.m. two individuals entered the property on Cartron Drive. A male in his 80s and a female in her 70s were assaulted and a sum of cash was taken during the course of this incident.
